Cisco has Changed the Service Provider Certification Track.

Cisco has announced to change the CCIE Service Provider and Routing and Switching track. A new single comprehensive written exam will replace the eight current Service Provider (SP)written exams. This new exam (351-029) has included packet architecture, other new technologies and introduction of new equipment in the lab. All the current SP written exams are either repositioned for recertification only, or retired. The new exam (351-029) is expected to be released in Feb 1, 2007.
A beta test of the new comprehensive CCIE SP Written Exam (351-029) will be available worldwide at Cisco-authorized testing centers from August 1, 2006 through August 29th, 2006 with full recertification or lab qualification credit granted to all passing candidates. The beta exam is offered at a discounted price of US $50. Some of SP written exams will be converted into CCIE recertification exams or be retired by feb 1, 2007.
